A Girl I Once Knew
Now that I really think about it,
It sure has been a long time,
We really did have fun together,
You and I.
Let's see, ah yes, English class in high school,
That's right, you were wearing glasses,
I'll always remember that day,
But why?
For it was there that I first met you,
The first girl I ever really loved,
The day a girl I once knew,
Finally came into my life.
First love, what is it anyways?
A movie here and there, together in a car,
We were both so young and curious,
Time sure flew by.
Now it's all a faded memory,
Events filed away in the back of my mind,
Your family and friends, your gentle touch,
Whisk by with a dreary sigh.
The memory I cherish most, however,
Is that of a girl I once knew,
Without whom my past would seem empty,
Recollections cold and dry.
So My Lost Love,
Though many miles are between us,
Always remember how I felt for you,
And one day fate my reunite us,
Me and a girl I once knew.
