Disposable World
Hello...Good Morning...Start the day.
Open soap box, throw it away.
No more TP, pitch the tube,
Out of mouthwash, ditch it too.
Go downstairs, coffee's on,
K-cups, milk cups, sugar packs gone.
Frozen breakfast, box and tray,
Eat contents throw rest away.
Trash bag full, put new one in,
Put recycle in proper bin.
Daily newspapers, read a few,
Dump the old, today's brand new.
Magazines already out of date,
New month's here, no need to wait.
Stop for coffee in work's haste,
All the packing goes to waste.
Fast food restaurants everywhere,
Styrofoam, plastic, no one cares.
Most of their menu's bad, don't ask,
Half they give you goes in the trash.
At the office it never quits,
Staples, pencils, paperclips.
Paper consumed by the case,
Never think of all the waste.
On way home, stop at store,
Paper, plastic, squander more.
Finally home, day's at end.
Tomorrow comes, start again.
Landfills spreading out far and wide,
Creating trash filled mountain sides.
A vicious cycle, a fate unfurled,
Can't we fix this disposable world?
